In a recent interview Stephen Keshi confirmed reports that he has indeed quit the Managerial role of the Super Eagles. He claims that he was tired of the political garbage of the NFF and the fans weren’t loyal enough to him.
When if he had quit he said “Yes. I have done my bit. I am tired of all the intrigues and backbiting and insinuations I get”. And when he was asked how he felt his decision would affect the fans he was dispassionate and responded saying “The same ones who were calling for my head after the Iran match? That “the World Cup is too big for Keshi”? I know there are many who truly support what we have been trying to do over these past months but I just cannot continue in this job anymore”. Keshi also claimed that his contract expired after Nigeria’s clash with France and the NFF never approached hi to discuss a new deal.
