Hetero-phobic: True Blood Actor Forced To Quit For Refusing To Act Gay Scene

share on:

It seems the homosexuals are winning on all fronts. It is now no more enough to be accepting of gays, you have to show it by being like them. Luke Grimes of True Blood was made to quit because he wasn’t cool with kissing another dude on camera. According to BuzzFeed,

When Luke Grimes suddenly left the show in December, HBO attributed his decision to “the creative direction of the character.” But now that James’ Season 7 storyline is becoming clear — a budding romance with Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) — a source close to the show confirms that Grimes left because he was uncomfortable playing a gay character with same sex kissing and sex scenes. His character originally had an on-screen romance with a woman (Jessica). . .

According to the source close to True Blood, writers and cast members were baffled and angered by Grimes’ reluctance to take James in a same-sex direction, especially since True Blood has always been an overtly sexual show with heavy LGBT undertones.

Does this mean that straight people don;t have rights anymore or what?!

  1. I say good for him….he shouldn’t HAVE to do that….I’m very up sat with the writers for making Alexander and Ryan do that…They didn’t need or have to go there. Hat’s off to both men for pulling it off as good as they did, it was smoken HOT BUT NOT what I wanted to see :-(….I feel like I waited forever to see Eric again and they go and show him to me gay :-O REALLY ? ! ? ! ? ! What was the point, why ?????…. That’s just B.S !!!!! This is what their doing with True Blood then it’s REALLY time to end the show……Alexander and Ryan ARE NOT GAY !!!!!!!!!!! Why can’t they just let a MAN be a MAN ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! What, the writers run out of ideas so they think well let’s make these two Bad to be bone men GAY……That’s just sad and I’m really pissed off about it….It’s time for the writers to give it up and just go home if that’s the best they can do.

    1. So if it is a straight ACTOR they can only play straight roles for you to believe it or not be annoyed? You cannot look at the character and not see the real life actor? News flash, many of the actors are at least bi in real life. But even if they were not it is called ACTING. This Luke kid is a pretty boy model who wants to be a star and not an actor. If he were an actor he would do the part. And Eric did not “go gay” it was one dream sequence. Get over your homophobia.

  2. double standard alert!!!. First gays complain about homophobia and just when people in the US are becoming a little less phobic, they pull a crap stunt like this!!!! On another end however, the movie fanatic side of me believes that the difference between a good and a great actor is the ability to play any and all roles to an above averagely believable extent; take michael scoffield (wentworth miller) on prison break, matt boomer of white collar, zachary quinto of heroes, american horror story and star trek; barney steinston (neil patrick harris) a.k.a the biggest man-whore of how I met your mother, luke evans the villian of fast the furious 6 (zeus in Immortals and Girion in the hobbit; the desolation of smaug), Ian Mckellen aka gandalf of the lord of the rings franchise aka elderly Magneto in the X-men franchise and a host of other gay actors who act straight roles convincingly….. At the end, it all boils down to personal opinion, comfortability and choice. This kinda reminds me of how Obama was voted into office in a bid to battle racism of whites against blacks; like seriously, isn’t voting a president in2 office cos he’s black racist??? Peace.

  3. It’s called ACTING. Luke is not a good actor if he cannot do the character the way they are writing it. Not double standard here, just a case of whiny baby bad acting homophobia intolerance.

  4. “Does this mean that straight people don;t have rights anymore or what?!”

Um…what rights are being taken away? No one’s forcing him to do anything, as evidenced by the actor leaving the show. Quit your pathetic whining.
