#Brazil2014: Tim Howard Sets World Cup Record

share on:

USA’s Tim Howard set a World Cup record even as the Stars and Stripes lost to Belgium.

Howard managed to save the ball from going into the net an amazing 16 times, setting a new record in the process.

Howard, however, would have happily exchanged the record for a win, as the record meant he and his compatriots were no onger in the tourney.

“None of that really matters to me,” Howard said after the match. “It is part of the job. It hurts when we lose, whether I had no saves or 20 saves, it doesn’t mean any more or less.”
