Argentina hire former Barcelona manager

share on:

Gerardo “Tata” Martino has been selected by Argentina to become the new head coach after Alejandro Sabella stepped down following an impressive world cup that saw the Argentines lose to Germany in the final in extra time.

Martino comes with a lot of experience having coached in Uruguay and even lead Newell’s Old Boys to league success in Argentina. Martino is a veteran of Argentine football and has already worked with captain Messi and defender Mascherano in Barcelona. Sabella has put a structure in place for Martino to succeed and it remains to be seen what the former Barcelona manager would do with the runners up at the FIFA world cup in Brazil
