In collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS), the Sickle Cell Aid Foundation (SCAF) will be carrying out a blood drive and free HB genotype tests on the 21st of June to mark World Sickle Cell Day.
The Sickle Cell Aid Foundation [SCAF] is a non-profit and non-governmental organization established in 2010 to amplify awareness on Sickle Cell Anaemia and to raise funds solely for the provision of quality medical care especially for the indigent in Nigeria.
As those who suffer from Sickle Cell occasionally experience Anaemia, which requires a blood transfusion, and in certain cases, a blood exchange transfusion, it can be difficult finding a donor in emergency situations’ leading to complications and sometimes loss of life.
So SCAF are asking you to come out and #DonateBlood #RefuelOurTank #GetTested #KnowYourGenotype #Participate #ScafBloodDrive
As well as giving back and being educated, prepared to be entertained! There will be games, vendors, refreshments and many more .
