With Argentina already through to the knock out stages, Nigeria will be hoping to avoid defeat against a Lionel Messi lead side in order to join them as the qualifying teams from group F.
The super eagles is the only team that is yet to concede a goal at the world cup and their games have produced the least goals with 180 minutes of football involving Nigeria producing just one goal. But that will be worth nothing against an Argentine side that has players who seemingly score for fun. Nigeria will be hoping Mikel can inject some pace into his movement and Musa can find some end product to his running. For goals the super eagles will rely on their talisman Odemwingie and Turkey based Emenika to do the damage. Yobo and Omeru will have to be at their best and hold the line while Enyeama will need a repeat of his 2010 performance to keep out Lionel Messi for ninety minutes.
For Argentina, all they have to do is play for pride. They will however want to avoid defeat to reduce their chances of clashing with France in the second round. But the match against NNigeria will be a good chance to play the likes of Orion, Gago and Palacio to give the top guns some rest and keep the fringe players fresh while still looking to break the Nigerians down with the relentless attacking style introduced by Head Coach, Alejandro Sabella.
This could be an explosive encounter but the fact that neither team actually needs a win could limit it to being a forgettable match.
