Legendary radio personality Casey Kasem died early morning on Father’s Day at the age of 82.
Kasem’s death was originally reported by his daughter and then confirmed by his agent. He had been suffering from Lewy Disease, the most common type of progressive demntia after Alzheimer’s, reports CNN.
Kasem’s children released the following statement:
“Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends. Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken … The world will miss Casey Kasem, an incredible talent and humanitarian; we will miss our Dad.”
Kasem was best known for hosting America’s top 40 and Casey’s top 40. He is survived by his second wife, Jean, and his four children.
