Leading on the pitch: The Nigerian Players to make a difference #Brasil2014

share on:

And finally for us in Nigeria, the World cup has started as in a few minutes, the Super Eagles open their Brazil 2014 campaign against Iran hoping to better their performance in 2010 and outperform the golden generation of 1994. If the super eagles must do well against Iran and in Brazil in general, every man must prove his mettle but a few players stand above the rest as leaders on the pitch for Nigeria, they are:

Vincent Enyeama

The Lille shot stopper has been impressive for Nigeria over the last * years most memorably when he thwarted Lionel Messi’s attempts to find the Nigerian net in 2010. He will need to be at his shot stopping best in order to give Nigeria a chance in Brazil.

Mike Obi

mikel obi

Mikel Obi is the creative man in the midfield for Nigeria with his Excellent positional play and an uncanny ability to hold the ball and pick out the right pass, His form would be very influential to Nigeria’s performance during the tournament. It won’t be to much to ask for a repeat of his performances in last year’s confederations cup.

Victor Moses

The Chelsea man spent last season on loan at Liverpool (and finished above Chelsea in the Premier league) but will be disappointed at the number of appearances he made last season. However when he has worn the green of n=Nigeria he has always been a major attacking outlet. In Brazil however, he must ad goals and killer passes to his directness and skill if we are to become a major threat at the world cup.

Emmanuel Emenike

If a team are going to win matches they must score goals, if they are going to scotre goals, their strikers must be ready to take their chances. Emenike is an impressive striker, big, strong, skillful and he packs an undying will. he must however know that in world cup matches you rarely get more than one chance at scoring a goal in a match, and Nigeria would be counting on him to make sure the ball ends up in the back of the net when the time comes.
