On Sunday, 15th June 2014, award-wining fashion label, Iconic Invanity held a presentation of its Autumn/Winter 14 collection and opened its first boutique, the exclusive purveyor of its unique fashions at The Grand Gardens, Block 9, Plot 25 Banana Island Road, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Sponsored by world’s most-loved champagne house, Moet & Chandon, the black tie event was held in an enchanting venue adorned with romantic flowers, naked light bulbs, flickered against backdrops of flower-padded walls and exotic runway and scenery.
The evening started with champagne cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, networking, while the fashion label’s pianist and DJ serenaded guests with endearing tunes that made for a remarkable evening.
Nollywood’s finest, Omotola ‘Omosexy’ Jalade-Ekehinde – dressed in an Iconic Invanity dress – welcomed guests and introduced the next activity – presentation of the Iconic Invanity Autumn/Winter 2014 collection titled.
The capsule collection filled with bedazzled and ornamented evening wears portrayed the designer’s aesthetic of well-structured, artistically bold pieces for the distinguished individual; the models in their goddess-like looks strutted the runway in captivating grace, thereby charming the audience with the iconic pieces.
Some pieces from the collection featured hand-crafted ornaments, appliqués, and viscose separates with embroidered with crystals while others featured dresses in tiers of aqua georgette trimmed in tiny pearls in citrine silk faille and tulle with black filigree embroidery.
The evening continued with the official opening of the store. Designed in the simplest yet classy fashion, the store is an extended version of the Iconic Invanity brand, with sparkling chandeliers, beautifully –styled mannequins and plush furnishings.
For the most part, Creative Director of the brand – Nancy Nwadire engaged guests with her charm – engaging conversations about the brand and its bespoke designs.
