Goodluck Jonathan To Meet With ASUP & COEASU Leadership Over Strike

The president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan is to meet the leadership of the ASUP and COEASU today 9th of June over their current strike action.

The strike action, which affects both polytechnics and colleges of education, has been ongoing for over a year.

It is hoped that the meeting will produce a good outcome so the strike can finally end.

HE is still expected to intervene and settle the contentious issues with ASUP & COEASU that bother on 2009 agreement implementation, initiate the process of granting autonomy to award degree by PLOYS & COEs, ignore the antics of Wike amongst others are our expectations for today after the meeting.   10. I learnt the meeting did’t hold. The only hope now is the scheduled meeting with the House Committee on Edu on 26/06/14. Too bad!

  11. Its high time government should know that all what is happening in d country is due to lack of knowledge & d effects is enormous that everyone can testify in our communities. My wish is that strike should be call off in d intrest of d future leaders cos education is d bedrock of a nation.
