The captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Joseph Yobo, has expressed his delight at starring in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Yobo made just eight appearances in over three months and concedes his fitness was a worry heading into the finals.
“This is going to be my third World Cup and I wasn’t fit before this time, so I’m just happy now that I’m ready and that gives me a great joy,” Yobo said to Complete Sports in an interview.
“At a time I doubted myself, if I was going to make it here (Brazil).
Yobo stressed that achieving his 100th cap for Nigeria is secondary.
“Any other thing that comes after playing the World Cup is an addition, a bonus.
“My main aim is to play for Nigeria and if I achieve any landmark, it is going to be exciting and special as well,” he stressed.
