Mario Balotelli’s agent has denied he has met arsenal boss Arsene Wenger
Chances of Arsenal signing Mario Balotelli currently look dead in the water.
It was claimed in mid-June by Goal that : “Arsene Wenger will meet with Mario Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola on Saturday as Arsenal close in on the £25 million signing of the Italy striker.”
But after Wenger denied links as Lies last week, Balotelli’s agent has now addressed the reports himself.
Mino Raiola told Italian outlet RaiSport : “Mario has a contract with Milan , the club called me and he is non-transferable. I have not been in Brazil and I have never met Wenger.”
That appears about as cut-and-dry as you can get on the matter, with Balotelli’s future previously a hot topic of debate in Milan, especially after vice-president Barbara Berlusconi described him as replaceable.
Raiola went onto defend Balotelli from criticism the striker faced in his homeland following Italy’s group stage exit from the tournament, in which he was substituted at half-time.
If Milan stick to their word on Balotelli, and Wenger is adamant on his, then the former Manchester City striker is unlikely to be bringing his unique talents to the Premier League any time soon.
