share on:

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has said that it arrested a trader yesterday with 9.375kg of compressed cannabis tucked inside foodstuff such as dried fish, dried bitter leaf, crayfish, melon and other local food spices, at the MMIA in Lagos while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airline flight to China.

NDLEA in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said that it is glad it was able to make such timely discovery to prevent the suspect from a possible gruesome death as such crime isnt taken lightly in the asian country and save the image of the home country, Nigeria.

The suspect,  Izuchukwu Jude Ekwosimba, 38, claimed to have been been financially constrained which led to his devicive actions but was immediately dismissed by the agency who claims he is comfortable enough to buy drugs worth N100, 000 and board a flight.
