The Samsung Galaxy S5 Dx/Mini was leaked today by the highly reliable @evleaks although its actual source is a poor quality screenshot the leaker received as a tip.
Judging from the URL in the screenshot (assuming it wasn’t tampered with), the device in question is the SM-G800, a designation that in the past was associated with the upcoming Galaxy S5 Mini.
However, Samsung may be forgoing the Mini tag in favor of the new “Galaxy S5 Dx” branding, possibly to make it sound more dynamic. Supporting this theory are the new color options in the screenshot, which include lime and orange, in addition to the S5’s black, blue, and white.
While the design of the S5 Dx/Mini is indeed very similar to the S5, the obvious change is the absence of the heart rate monitor on the back of the phone. SAMSUNG is trying to push customers towards its Gear 2and Gear Fit smart watches.
Specifications wise the S5 Dx/Mini will feature a 4.5-inch 720 AMOLED panel, a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and an 8MP camera and should cost considerably lower than its big brother the S5. No info yet on the release date of the Galaxy S5 Dx/Mini, but it shouldn’t be too far of now.
