Justice Charles Oputa, popularly known for his role in Human rights investigation commission which was later nicknamed, Oputa Panel, has been confirmed dead at the age of 96, in a statement issued by his son, Charles Çharly boy’ Oputa in Abuja.
Oputa was earlier rushed to the hospital in Owerri on February 14 after he suffered a partial stroke. He was later moved to Abuja where he had been receiving special treatment while living with his son before returning to his hometown and back.
He is survived by a Son and three grandchildren.
One of his grandchildren, Dominique Oputa took to her instagram page to pay final tribute to her grandfather with a collage of his pictures from his young age as a young man to his later ages as a fulfilled icon.
