Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has released a full length clip detailing the kidnap of over 200 girls from a secondary school in Chibok, Borno.

The situation has become a worldwide spectacle, with the US finally making plans to send troops in to help with the recovery.

  1. The question is how would a terrorist group of this magnitude crop up under the watchful eyes of the Nigerian government? This exposes the weaknesses of a government. What exactly do they want? A group like this comes up as a result of frustration, which means their government had either given a deaf ear to their complaints or had provided unsatisfactory responses to their grievances. It’s so ironical that Boko Haram means western education is a sin, yet they use western technology to fight the cause. The question is what is that aspect of western education they considered a sin?
