Beauty Tips With Dunni: How To Wear Natural Make-Up

share on:

Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to apply 3 different types of foundations, 2 concealers, 2 or more eye shadows, and lipstick enough to paint a bungalow to look fabulous.

Having a natural look does not mean leaving the dark spots and blemishes out to the world, and it certainly does not involve you applying everything in your make-up kit on your face all at once. It  just means keeping the make-up light, but still very pretty and hug-friendly.

Simple can be beautiful, here are a few steps to getting a flawless, decent, beautiful, and light look

At the end of this article, you would find yourself doing certain things that are ordinarily part of your make-up routine, but with a better understanding.

Here are 6 tips to get a natural & flawless look

1)Ensure your face is well moisturised.

This is the first and most important step, your skin has to be well prepped, so the foundation sinks in and your make-up doesn’t  look glotchy after a short period of time. If you have an oily skin, focus on finding water based products. You could also use a primer but you aren’t going for the dolled up look so I suggest you skip that step.

2)Apply the right  foundation

People often think once you find the foundation that matches your skin tone, your foundation problems are over. The quantity and application method could be a little tricky

You should avoid applying excess foundation, apply just the right amount to hide those blemishes. Using your fingers to apply also helps, and if you aren’t comfortable using your fingers, apply with a really good brush.

3)Since you want a natural look, you either wear brown eye-shadow or no eye-shadow at all

For your eyes, you use a matte brown eye-shadow, if you do not have one you could substitute with a darker shade of brown powder. That could be difficult to apply though

4)Line your eyes and apply a neat coat of mascara

Liquid eye-liner can be skipped, just use a very dark retractable pencil for the inner rims of your eye

5)Forget the highlighting and the contouring & Stay away from the blush

You are aiming for a natural look, you hereby do not need to look like a barbie doll. So forget the highlighting & contouring, you should also skip the blush but if you think your face looks too plain, you could use a shade of blush very similar to your skin tone. Also keep it really light.

6)Wear  nude or light pink lipstick, or you just wear some lip gloss.

I have had friends whine about how nude lipstick doesn’t suit them, so you could substitute with a very light shade of pink lipstick and finish up with gloss. Ensure you line your lips.

Some of you are probably wondering why I did not say anything about the most important part of the make-up routine the eyebrows. It is an intentional omission as we would be discussing that in our next post, the basic thing you should keep in mind about your eyebrows is to use brown pencil, and ensure when people see you they do not say hello to your eyebrows before they say hello to you.

The basic thing is to remember to keep everything at its utmost minimum.

If you have any questions or anything you would like to be discussed please let me know via the comment box.

Keep refreshing 360nobs.
