New Book Reveals Mourinho Called Real Madrid Players “Sons Of Bitches” And “Most Treacherous Squad Ever”

A new book titled The Special One: The Dark Side Of Jose Mourinho, has revealed Jose Mourinho’s frustrations and angers with his Real Madrid squad.

Written by Diego Torres and translated by Pete Jenson, the book highlighted Mourinho’s turmoil-filled tenure at Real Madrid.

The 53-year-old took over at the Bernabeu from Manuel Pellegrini in 2010 but allegedly just a year into his tenure the Portugeuese began to believe that there were people conspiring against him.

Leaked team news before a vital Clasico match in April 2011 added to his neurosis and at the end of the match he accused his players of being traitors and called them ‘sons of bitches’.

“You’re traitors. I asked you not to speak with anyone about the team selection but you’ve betrayed me,” Mourinho is quoted as saying in the book.

“It shows you’re not on my side. You’re sons of bitches. The only friend I have in this dressing room is Granero… and I’m not even sure that can trust him any more.”

“You’ve left me all on my own. You’re the most treacherous squad I’ve had in my life. Nothing more than sons of bitches.”

Mourinho eventually left Madrid to return to former club Chelsea in 2013.
