Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are set to tie the knot in Paris on May 24, but they may have to reschedule their big day after discovering the French law requires a strict 40-day residency before they can get married in the country.
The French Embassy in Washington D.C said “All marriages must be performed by a French civil authority before any religious ceremony takes place. ‘The mayor can authorize the deputy mayor or a city councillor to perform the ceremony in the town in which one of the parties to be married has resided for at least 40 days preceding the marriage. ‘These requirements cannot be waived.’
36-year-old rapper, Kanye reportedly has an apartment in the French capital but he doesn’t live there full-time as he currently resides in California with Kim kardashian. Meanwhile, the couple who have 10-month-old daughter North together were keen for their wedding day to be an experience their 200 guests will never forget, so they have hired out the Trianon Palace Hotel for them to stay in.
