Chiwetel Ejofor (my man) won’t be allowed to go off the radar after his brilliant performance in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave as the British actor is now being eyed to play the villain in the next untitled James Bond Movie.
According to Variety, Ejiofor is at the top of the list of people being considered to play the villain in Sony and MGM’s Bond 24 however the studio is yet to make anything official regarding this. At this point, the only confirmation gotten is that Daniel Craig will reprise his role as 007 James Bond, while Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris will also be reprising their roles from Skyfall with Sam Mendes also re.turning to direct this one.
Each time i see Chiwetel Ejiofor on screen i remember Yaphet Frederick Kotto who played Kananga in 1973’s James Bond movie Live and Let Die and this could just be the chance to see another
African-American black actor play a villain in a James Bond movie.
Javier Bardem did a good job as the villain in the last James Bond movie Skyfall which set many records and it won’t be a walk in the park for Ejiofor however judging from the kind of performances he delivered in Four Brothers, Serenity and Children of Men where he played the villain, he’d do a good job if he is ultimately chosen for the job.
The plot of Bond 24 is unknown at this time and with Sam Mendes at the helm of the movie it will remain that way for a while. What has been revealed at this point is that production will begin this summer and the movie is scheduled for release November 6, 2015.Source: Variety & Photo by Mark Mainz/Getty Images
