I agree that funeral tributes are usually sad but this tribute by Zara Gretti’s sister, awakened that part of me that really loved Zara. Read on….
BIG SISTER TOYIN,
Words cannot fully describe how your passing has affected not only myself but the many others that you left behind. Such a beautiful, caring and talented individual, I wish you were here so I could say these words to you face to face, nevertheless there is comfort knowing that you are at peace with God and amongst the angels above in Heaven. Although years have passed, I still cherish the memories from the last time we were together, the excitement of having you with us, I was so proud to show off my big sister at the disco school. I admire your quirky personality to your funky style and your sense of humour among many, but above all you were strong hearted and positive till the very end and remained the bubbly, loving and selfless Toyin that we all know and love. It saddens me that my older sister is no longer with us but I am thankful to God that you were a part of my family. During your short time on earth, you were such a positive influence and touched many people not only through your music but your kindheartedness. I can only hope that I grow up to be the exceptional woman that you became. Your memory will forever live on in our hearts. I never got to say this but I love you Toyin.
May her soul rest in Peace. Amen.
