Some of us [Including I] got engrossed with all the pre-Samsung Galaxy S5 Specifications and rumors. Some reported the S5 will feature an all new build quality, ditching the clunky plastic for a much better metal build, a total redesign of the Out-dated in looks TouchWiz UI and even a QHD display a.k.a 2k display and we might be disappointed that we didn’t get to see all of this rumoured specs on the actual device, The Samsung Galaxy S5 remains a top smartphone for early 2014.
No details have been released on the price or a Nigeria release date [This is normally unveiled by Samsung’s Nigerian twitter page @samsungmobileng] it is most likely to arrive in stores in about 1 and half/ 2 months from now.
Below are 7 + 0.5 reasons why you should consider purchasing the new Samsung Galaxy S5 based on new features it offered
The Samsung Galaxy S5 packs the new Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 God. And the latest graphic chipset – Adreno 330. The device also comes with the latest Android version, 4.4.2 Kitkat.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is available in both 16GB and 32GB variants, the 8GB variants found on previous models[Galaxy S3,S4] have been scraped by Samsung. Surprisingly it’s external storage through a micro SD slot is now up to 128GB, so for users who like to store up files and videos you have more space to do as you wish
Taking a cue from Sony Xperia flagship line and the rugged version of the S4 [S4 Active], Samsung has made the Galaxy S5 IP67 certified, i.e Water and Dust resistant, these are good qualities of a smartphone.
4. Better Camera option
The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a new never before used camera technology, the ISOCELL camera. The ISOCELL camera which is developed by Samsung itself is capable of taking great photos in both bright and low light conditions, it also takes pictures at the rate of 0.3 seconds. The camera on the Galaxy S5 has been bumped from the 13MP camera found on the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3 to a 16MP ISOCELL camera unit. So for all those who love to take pictures with your smartphone you won’t be disappointed with the Galaxy S5 camera.
5. More Colour Options
The Galaxy S5 has been equipped with a larger battery, 2900mAh than its predecessor, the Galaxy S4 which came with a 2600mAh battery. Samsung has also promised a much more better battery life of 12 to 13 hours on screen time, meaning it can last you a full day + some hours on moderate use without you worrying on where to charge your phone.
7. Fingerprint and heart sensors
Saving the best for the last, one of the newest features Samsung built into its new flagship is the Fingerprint and heart sensors. Samsung followed the steps of Apple on the IPhone 5s with the Fingerprint scanner. Aside from unlocking and locking your Galaxy S5, the Fingerprint Sensor also ensures password protection when using PayPal for more secured payments [Hopefully the banks in Nigeria with decent android apps will take full use of this functionality on the Galaxy S5]. The smartphone can be a beneficial tool for your health with the Samsung S Health App. The handset can provide you real time data by simply placing a finger on the by the lens of the back facing 16MP
