In an unconfirmed making rounds on the web, it is said that Biola Alabi, the Managing Director of M-Net Africa has just resigned. Biola reportedly resigned her appointment from the multinational cable/satellite content company few days ago for reasons yet unknown.
While sources claim that she was forced to resign, others insist that she did so out of her own will.
Biola was able to distinguish herself as one of the most accomplished and powerful women in African media, when she sat atop the multinational cable/satellite content company. She has been at the forefront of the expansion of the AfricaMagic channels brand across the continent.
Biola once made it to the 11th position of Forbes’ listing of the Africa’s Most Powerful Women in the Media and was also honoured as a 2012 young global leader by the World Economic Forum.
Meanwhile, M-Net has named Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu as its first Regional Director, West Africa.
