Chiwetel Ejiofor Gets Snubbed While Lupita Nyong’o Wins at The Spirit Awards

The Independent Spirit Awards aka Spirit Awards was held last night to award movies released in 2013 and it’s not surprising that Steve McQueen’s movie 12 Years a Slave which won 5 awards including one for Best Feature, and the award for Best Supporting actress to Lupita Nyong’o whose birthday it was. While 12 Years a Slave managed to clear most of the top awards, Chiwetel Ejiofor didn’t win in the category of Best Actor as Matthew McConaughey for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club.
