From New York to Dubai and down to Lagos, revelers welcomed 2014 with extravagant fireworks displays and giant street parties.
In Lagos Nigeria, droves of people turned up for the biggest New Years Eve party in Africa; The Lagos countdown show, at the Barbeach. The show which paraded over 60 A- list artistes in Nigeria, kept the audience screaming for more well into the morning of January 1st 2014.
As the New Year was ushered in, a massive fireworks display lit up the sky around the bar beach leaving the audience with a “wow” expression on their faces. The audience was thrilled to see such a glamorous display of firework, described as a first of its kind by many who witnessed it.
The Lagos Countdown which seeks to institute an enduring crossover tradition signifying the end of one year and the celebration of the beginning of another in a splendid fashion is the brainchild of Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) and is organised on behalf of the state government by the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA).
