Following his side’s goalless draw against Chelsea, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hit out at Jose Mourinho for playing negative football.
The former Real Madrid coach, set up his team to defend and try to catch the Gunners out on counter-attacks, leaving Wenger frustrated as his team tried to break down the well organised Blues.
“We should have won it. They came here to defend and catch us on the break. We were a bit edgy at the start but we took control in the second half and should have won it,” Wenger said.
Speaking on the shout for penalty, after Azpilicueta seemed to foul Walcott in the area, Wenger said: “It was 100% a penalty when Theo Walcott was fouled, in my mind there is no doubt. I don’t know why it was not given.
“I made no changes as we had a good balance and I felt that we had enough strength to see it through.”
