Efua’s Style Review: Rita Dominic

share on:

While Nigerian actresses are keen fashion followers, wearing designer labels and the latest trends as often as they can, not many have consistently cool personal. Rita Dominic’s style evolution has put her ahead of the pack when it comes to delivering on and off the red carpet. Less a trend follower and more of a fun but classy girl about town, she seems to be riding a style wave and blogs and magazines are taking notice.

For red carpet glamour Rita goes for classic form fitting gowns and girly sparkle. She is elegant and striking in this beautiful turquoise, floor length House of Nwocha dress with a matching cape not unlike Gwyneth Paltrow’s Tom Ford look to the 2012 Oscars. She was in New York to attend the Nigerian Entertainment Awards and pick up the award for Best Lead Actress looking every inch a star. She gets style extra points for repping the Nigerian label from designer Ugonna Umero.

Dressed down Rita still has a consistent outlook – comfortable but cute. She seems to have a penchant for shirt dresses and who doesn’t love the staple cool kid leggings and trainers look.

5 6Getting the right fit is essential to delivering a pulled together look and nothing ruins one faster than a piece being too small or too big. Rita knows her body and gets that right too even with the particularly tricky pants and top combo.

7 8When she isn’t working the red carpet or kicking it in comfortable casual, Rita is quite the lady in fun, chic separates and day dresses.

9 10While it’s a little touch and go with some of the draped, jersey dresses she seems to love and I’d like to see her try something new with the hair and makeup, it’s been more hits than misses recently and so we give Rita Dominic a solid 3.5 stars.
