It is that time of the season where we get to have a sneak peeks of great fashion from all the fashion weeks and runways around the globe. From the just concluded international fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion week to Capetown and Johannesburg fashion week, the upcoming Ghana fashion and design week and back to Nigeria with the GTB Lagos Fashion and Design week…Phew. I am so excited and I cannot wait to fill my closet with all the great pieces and colours from the coming spring/summer season 2014.
For your viewing delight, I have put together the hottest MUST have colour trends for 2014, as seen from some of the biggest fashion shows by international designers. I am more than sure that other upcoming fashion shows will have the same trend patterned. We’ll have to wait for my review on those. In the meantime, enjoy some of the popular colours below.
BLACK AND WHITE: It appears that these shades of colours have come to stay for another year. I love the blend of black and white, or monochrome as you may love to call it. You can wear these colours with pride.
HINT OF PINK: From the softest pink to the brightest pink, any shade of pink in the spectrum would do. I love the feminine bright twist it’ll bring to any outfit.
WHITE: Next year, its all about the all white look. White will forever stand on its own. In recent times, we have seen more and more celebrities home and abroad as well as fashion lovers embracing this colour trend. Just make sure you save for lots of white bar soap for washing :).
METALLICS: Gold and shimmering silvers and blues add a touch of luxe to next season’s outfits. It speaks glamorousity to me. Its also the best way to sparkle without wearing too much – simply sexy.
ORANGE: Orange is the new black, Yes it is… I know it is a bright hue but this colour can and will bring life to any piece. This is one colour trend that’ll turn heads and show you off regardless of your skintone.
I’ll share more interesting style and colour updates once the Ghana Fashion and Design Week is over.
