On the 29th of September 2013(same day as the Elite Model Look Nigeria 2013) at the fabulously elegant Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos, a mass of dignitaries, A-List stars and press joined TrueTales publications(owner of Complete Fashion Magazine), world’s most loved champagne, Moet & Chandon and UBA in the official and unveiling of Nigeria’s first Sub-Saharan version of Hello Magazine, Hello! Nigeria.
Editor-In-Chief of Hello! Nigeria Magazine, Zandile Blay began by welcoming guests to the launching of the first issue tagged- “Arts & Power” which featured 15 icons in film, music, fashion, arts and style. “This is an evening about words, but even more so, it’s an evening about numbers,” she said while standing pretty in a red customized silk blend dress. “Hello! Nigeria is number 29 of 33 global franchises around the world, and we are happy to continue a tradition that has been in existence since 1944.”
The highlight of the evening was the official unveiling of the all-new Hello! Nigeria magazine by her Excellency, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Abimbola Emmanuella Fashola. Mrs Fashola also called on the cover stars including members of the Hello! team and Truetales Publication to join her in unveiling the cover which was received with an applause from the excited and cheering crowd.
In attendance were founder and CEO of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu, Mrs Betty Kachikwu, Vice Chairman, True Tales Publication; Anne Omezi, Group Managing Director, Signature group and Nduneche Ezurike, former CEO, True Tales Publication, Clement Mudiaga Enajemo of MUDI Africa, Newton Jibunoh, Lisa Folawiyo of Jewel by Lisa, Agbani Darego, Freeze, Charles Anazodo, Dolapo Oni(MC of the event), Bola Balogun, Eunice Efole, Ebuka Ucheindu, Uti Nwachukwu, Veronica Odeku, Frank Oshodi, Re Olunuga, Mai Atafo, Bryan Okpara, IK Osakioduwa, Yeni Kuti and Desmond Elliot.
The exclusive event also featured a traditional African dance presentation sponsored by UBA, followed by a special champagne session courtesy of Moet & Chandon. Each guest went home with a copy of the magazine.
