#GTBLFDW 2013: GTBLagos Fashion And Design Week – KiKi Kamanu – Day 4

share on:

Enjoy KikiKamanu’s Spring/Summer 2014 Collection THE ABYSSINIAN ADVENTURE as showcased at the GTBLagos Fashion and Design Week, Eko Hotel on the 26th of October 2013.

The Abyssinian Adventure collection is about the culture of the Abyssinians in Southern Ethiopia. Her collection reflects her travels through the Omo Valley where she was strongly influenced by the Menen (finest in Amharic) fabric – a traditional hand woven fabric.

Primary colours of the collection – Peach, Orange, White,  Black, Yellow and prints which represent the Abyssinian’s traditional clothing represented in jersey and silk chiffon.  Kiki Kamanu also showcased some pretty cool Tshirts on the runway but the standout piece would have to be the long sleeve white dress with the stencil print (last dress shown).

See the collection below.

  1. Are you guys kidding me? Worst collection of the entire show. I was watching from the front row and was cringing as each model walked down the runway. Horribly sewn, not cohesive at all, cheap fabric…etc Gosh she shouldn’t be allowed to show again!!!
