THE 65TH EMMY AWARDS: The Winners (Full List)

share on:

The Emmy host was Neil Patrick Harris – he was brilliant. The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards was held on Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

The biggest winner of  the 2013 Emmys was Behind The Candelabra: a TV movie which starred Matt Damon and Michael Douglas with 3 emmys.  Sadly, Scandal did not win any of the major Primetime awards but won under Creative Arts for Outstanding Guest Actor in Drama  (this was not part of the televised show) by Dan Bucatinsky(played the role of James Novack). Another favourite, Breaking Bad won 2 big awards including Outstanding Drama.

In the comedy zone, James Parsons (Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory) picked up a well deserved Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy – BAZINNNGA!  Modern Family also picked up the  Emmy for the Outstanding Comedy of the Year.

The show also paid special tributes with some of the closest friends and colleagues of those who have passed paying the tributes: Edie Falco  to Sopranos co-star James Gandolfini; Michael J. Fox to Family Ties producer Gary David Goldberg; Jane Lynch to Glee co-star Cory Monteith; Rob Reiner  to All in the Family cast member Jean Stapleton; and Robin Williams to his friend and mentor Jonathan Winters (Mork and Mindy).

During the show, Elton John and Carrie Underwood also performed.

There was also an amazing choreographed segment during the show with all the nominated choreographers and the show close with Will Farrell and his kids.  All in all it was a great show – worth the hype.
