There was an uproar at the House of Representatives after the arrival of the breakaway faction from the governing People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on a courtesy visit.
A meeting between the seven Governors of the new Peoples Democratic Party faction, and members of the House of Representatives ended with an exchange of blows as the leader of the newly formed splinter group of the PDP, Abubakar Baraje tried to address parliament.
The governors, along with Abubakar Baraje, first met with the Senate President – David Mark. A follow up meeting at the House of Representatives with Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, and members of the House, degenerated into chaos with supporters of the Bamanga Tukur-led PDP angered by some alleged remarks made by Baraje.
The brawl lasted for about 10 minutes with legislators hitting each other. Watch the video of the free for fight below
