When the announcement that Ben Affleck would be the next Batman was made, the response was quite predictable as Ben Affleck isn’t one of the most beloved actors around nor is he one you’d describe as a ‘Bruce Wayne’ material. However the die has been cast and that decision has bee made so all those fanboys complaining on different boards best deal with it.
While Ben Affleck might end up putting up a good performance after all, his Runner Runner co-star’s revelation that he’d want to take on the role of The Riddler won’t be half as well received. According to reports at Variety, Justin Timberlake while on the “Jim & Kim” show at Fresh 102.7 made it known that while he wouldn’t like to take on the role of a superhero, he’d like that of the villain, The Riddler instead.
Timberlake started by explaining he wouldn’t want to be caught in a Robin suit before going on to share his dream – “Not a chance in hell. I ain’t playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie,” he said.
“Now, a villain! I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funnily enough, is the Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain. The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I’m gonna play crazy, I’m wanna play proper crazy.”
Good thing it’s just a dream as the thought of Justin Timberlake playing The Riddler who was last seen on the big screen being played by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever is sad/horrifying at the same time as it means there are no better actors around than Artie.
