After a slow first day things turned up a notch at Africa Fashion Week London 2013 (You can view some of the images from Day 1 here).
The second day of the event showcased designs from Ruuts Art and Creation, Slu by Sluvin Designs, M Shade, Rya-V Jewellery line, Crown Rose, Established Beauxtique, Giberky and many more.
A major highlight was Steve Mandy Designs. The designer himself came on the runway and completed a design on one of the models in the middle of his showcase. The completed look was a figure hugging black mini dress with a drawing of Nelson Mandela on the front which he drew right before the eyes of all the fashionistas and spectators on attendance.
There were also a diverse array of stalls with designers from all over Africa as well as health and beauty. The likes of natural hair and skin beauty line Agese Oils, ready to wear head wrap fashion brand Kiyana Wraps and handmade jewellery line Evarope were all there showcasing and selling their products. Most products were swathed in Ankara and Kente – from baby booties to armchairs – if you can imagine it, it was available.
The 3day event has been the biggest African fashion show outside of Africa. Expect Day 3 pictures as well detailed images from each of the designers. Stay clicked.
