The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton introduced her newly born prince to the world, this evening. She carried the royal baby in her arms and was flanked by her husband, Prince William, who took his turn to carry the baby in a brief appearance.
The Duchess was delivered of the child on Tuesday afternoon around 4pm at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, West London.
Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, were the first to pay a visit to the new family, beaming at journalists as they posed for photographs outside the hospital and pausing to answer a few questions. Afterwards the couple, were visited by Prince Charles and Camilla.
“I hope you can all get back to normal now,” Prince William joked to the media, who have been camped outside the hospital for weeks.
As celebratory lights, gun salutes and other tributes were unleashed in Britain and abroad, William thanked staff at St. Mary’s Hospital “for the tremendous care the three of us have received.”
The world still awaits the face and name of the future king.
