@missbubu_i at the movies: Star Trek Into the Darkness – Movie Review #StarTrek

share on:

Hello again. So I finally went to the Cinema this weekend. I wasn’t able to see The Great Gatsby due to unforeseen circumstances that are way too un-important for me to discuss in the post.

Anyhow, I’m one of those people that likes to watch high octane, explosion and fight movies (also known as summer movies) like the next person and Star Trek was exactly that movie.

Star Trek Into The Darkness Movie Plot: After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

I saw the first Star Trek movie in 2009 ad in my honest opinion, it was good, not really good, not less than good, just plain good. It was the movie that sorta introduced us to Chris Hemsworth aka Thor (albeit a very minor part), it also taught many of us the ‘may the force be with you’ sign, but it was OK.

Star Trek Into the Darkness was not just OK, it was great. It was directed by JJ Abrams (the mastermind behind the first Star Trek, Lost and Super 8) and all the usual suspects were present to reprise their roles i.e. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and Bruce Greenwood.

Also our resident villain was Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock in Sherlock, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Khan. He was brilliant. I have successfully added a new villain to my list of best Movie Villains. He really was that good.

The movie keeps you glued to your seats, fast paced action, awesome story line. It is one of the best movies of the summer. Personally its one of the best movies of the summer so far. Lets hope the rest of the summer keeps on getting better.

Let me know what you think in the comments section and don’t forget to go see Fast and the Furious 6, The Hangover or Epic this weekend, or better yet watch all three.
