The 4th of April 2013, was indeed a fashionable day, as fashion lovers and style enthusiasts gathered at the Didi Museum located on Akin Adesola, Victoria Island, Lagos, to witness the private exhibition and viewing of Tsemaye Binite’s current collection. The event was sponsored by Moet & Chandon for 5th + Quansah and Tsemaye Binite.
In Tsemaye Binite introductory speech, he stated he named this Autumn Winter collection,‘Number 6’.
The ‘Number 6 collection is all about Tsemaye’s vintage girl, who is a modern glamour girl ready to dominate the world” said Tsemaye.
The ready to wear collection of shift & evening dresses, long tops, jackets, skirts and trousers was filled with colours like Lilac, Pretty Pink, Teal Blue, Burgundy, Black and White. The pieces were made from sheer raw silk, satin and lace fabrics, with lots of hand made beaded embellishments.
It was also the first time the designer would launch a bridal line. The bridal collection had 4 different styles fashioned out of lace and silk displayed.
I particularly loved the models arrangement, he had them all on white boxes like mannequins so one could have a first hand close-up look and assessment of each piece.
There was also a rack of ready to wear pieces for immediate purchase as well as ability to order pieces from the Number 6 collection. We were surrounded with beautiful paintings by I George and treated to lovely cupcakes by Hans and Rene with continuous flow of champagne courtesy of Moet & Chandon.
Enjoy the pictures of the collection below.
