TV host Chelsea Handler is set to star alongside Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in new movie, Blended
According to Variety, the Chelsea Lately comedienne-and-hostess landed a solid supporting role in the feature starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler.
Chelsea will portray the best friend of Drew’s character.
Blended’s plot centres on “a couple who, after disastrous blind date, are stuck together in a family resort with their children from previous marriages”.
Warner Bros. is the studio behind the project and the script was written by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera.
Leading man Adam and Tim Herlihy are currently revising the original screenplay.
Adam will also serve as producer with Mike Karz. Josie Rosen is executive producer representing both Karz and Gulfstream Pictures.
Frank Coraci is directing the picture which will film in South Africa and Georgia beginning next week.
Blended is set to be released in cinemas in May 2014 over America’s Memorial Day Weekend.
Drew and Adam have a long history of co-starring in hilarious movies of this genre such as 1998 feature The Wedding Singer and 2004’s 50 First Dates.
Drew was last seen in 2012 dramatic romance Big Miracle. She went on a brief acting hiatus to focus on her expanding family, as the actress and her husband Will Kopelman welcomed their first child, a daughter named Olive, in September 2012.
Adam’s comedy sequel Grown Ups 2, which also stars Taylor Lautner, Steve Buscemi, Salma Hayek and Andy Samberg, will be released this summer.
