Court refuses KIm Kardashian’s plea to move date of divorce settlement

Kim Kardashian’s request to expedite her divorce trial date has reportedly been denied.

The 32-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is embroiled in a bitter battle with estranged husband Kris Humphries as he seeks to have their 72-day marriage annulled.

While Kim is said to be eager to cut ties with the American basketball star the proceedings are apparently wreaking havoc with her busy schedule.

According to TMZ, Kim asked the court to move the May 6 start date so that she could attend a previously scheduled perfume launch.

Court documents obtained by the website show Kim filed a request to begin the trial on May 3.

A judge is reportedly forcing her to be in court as planned. Kris apparently couldn’t make the change work with his schedule.

Attorneys representing the estranged parties are reportedly still working on a settlement deal in a last ditch effort to keep the case from going to trial.

Kris and Kim married in a lavish ceremony in August 2011 after a whirlwind courtship. The reality star gave the union little more than two months after deciding it just couldn’t last and filing for divorce.

She began dating longtime friend Kanye West shortly after and is now expecting the couple’s first child this summer.

Kris has meanwhile refused to rush their divorce with a simple dissolution as he claims the wedding was fraudulent and Kim used their marriage for publicity.

In legal documents TMZ obtained in February, Kim claimed the stress of stringing out the proceedings is threatening ‘the health and well-being of my unborn child’.

The case continues.
