Big Brother Activated: US Congress Passes CISPA (Cyber Intelligence Sharing & Protection Act) While Everyone Else is Distracted by Boston Bombings

On Thursday, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act or CISPA  (download here), was approved by the US House of Representatives by a vote of 288 to 127, while USA & the rest of the world were distracted by what’s been going on in Boston

The law which was first introduced in 2011 and which didn’t make it pass the Senate due to massive opposition from privacy and civil liberties groups, allows the US Government to spy on everything that goes on, on the Internet which undermines the privacy of millions of Internet users.

North Korean hackers and the Boston bombings might not appear to have much in common; but not according to some American lawmakers, who are using both to justify passing a controversial cybersecurity bill …You can read it all on slate.com
