5 Nigerians make CAF Best Eleven list for AFCON 2013

A few hours after Nigeria grabbed the trophy for the 2013 African Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Unveiled its list for the “Best Eleven” players in Africa.

Nigeria occupied 5 out of 11 slots on the CAF list. On the list are Nigeria’s Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, defender Efe Ambrose, midfielder Mikel Obi and forwards Victor Mosesand Emmanuel Emenike were selected to complete the team which also has Cape Verde Island’s Nando Maria Neves, Mali’s Seydou Keita, Burkina Faso’s Jonathan Pitroipa, Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan and Ivory Coast’s Arouna Koné and Siaka Tiéné.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Burkina Faso in the final game on February 10, 2013, lifting the cup for the third time following successes in 1980 and 1994.
