VOGUE cover girl Jennifer Lawrence has been shortlisted in the Leading Actress category at the 2013 BAFTAs. The 22-year-old – recognised for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook – faces competition from Helen Mirren, Jessica Chastain, Marion Cotillard and Emmanuelle Riva.

Lawrence’s co-star, Bradley Cooper, fetaures in the Leading Actor list, opposite award season regulars Daniel Day-Lewis, Joaquin Phoenix, Hugh Jackman and Ben Affleck.  The Affleck-directed Argo is also up for Best Film, alongside Les Misérables, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty.

Latest James Bond thriller Skyfall gets a nod in the Outstanding British Film category, as does Anna Karenina, Seven Psychopaths, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Les Misérables. Other notable nominations include Anne Hathaway and Judi Dench for Best Supporting Actress, while Bond villain Javier Bardem is up for Best Supporting Actor.

Lincoln, Steven Spielberg’s Abraham Lincoln biopic, sweeps the board with a total of 10 nods – closely followed by Les Misérables and Life of Pi, which have both received nine, and Skyfall with eight. The winners will be announced at the ceremony in London on February 10.
