Kendrick Lamar Names Nas’s “Life Is Good” As His Fave Album of 2012

In a recent interview, West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar talked about this success of his debut album, and named his favorite album of 2012.

“My favorite album? Nas. Yup, yup. Life Is Good. Crazy album,” Lamar revealed in the interview. “I’m definitely [picking and choosing certain collaborations]. It’s really got to be about the song. Really, you know? I don’t take the talent away from any artist. Everybody’s unique in their own way. So you don’t necessarily have to do the music I do. It has to be a great song and a great idea.”

This is not the first time the album has been praised, as it has received similar opinion from rapper Fabolous.

“I think it’s actually a breath of fresh air for hip-hop,” Fab said. “It’s a different direction than a lot of the hip-hop that’s been coming out more recent. It’s so fresh. It’s so good to hear fresh music once in a while. You know, nothing wrong with the sound that’s in hip-hop right now, except for that it’s over-saturated you know, but I think Nas gives a different approach. I think that’s dope. “It’s just about making great hip-hop overall and I think Nas’ album adds to that,” ‘Loso added.
