Brian Ouko [born June 13th 1989] better known as Khaligraph Jones is a Kenyan rapper who rose on the scene in 2009 after winning the 2009 edition of Channel O emcee Africa competitions in Kenya
Born in Nairobi, the nation’s capital city, Khaligraph attended Imara primary school and later joined BruceWood high school where he got his secondary education. Khaligraph’s love for music began at a tender age, he started singing at the age of 12 and by the time he was 15, he had already recorded his first single. After winning the 2nd edition of Channel O’s competition in Kenya, a competition that would seek to find the best rapper to represent Kenya in the country internationally, he took his music to another
level this time on a professional basis
In 2010, Khaligraph released his 1st Mix tape titled the ‘The Takeover’ which got a lot of airplay and positive response from the masses, he later released ‘The Undisputed’ in 2011, followed by ‘The Khali Jones Chronicles’ released early 2012. His ability to speak both English and the Swahili languages has distinguished him from most musicians in Kenya who are only limited to using the local language during recordings.
Amongst the reputable names khaligraph has worked include; Abbas, Kayvo Kforce, Chiwawa and Xtatic, Outside Kenya, he has collaborated with artists such as The MIth [Uganda}, FBI [Nigeria] amongst others.
