The Joint Task Force said it had killed a “media man” and captured two field commanders of the notorious Boko Haram group in Kano during an early morning operation on Sunday morning.
Spokesperson of the JTF, Lt Ikedichi Iweha, said that the sect member killed was “connected with their media activities and that investigations had began to reveal the identity and the details of the member. Some items were also recovered by the military and SSS that carried out the operation, but Lt. Iwela didn’t give details.
A source close to the raid however disclosed that the sect member killed was Abu Qaqa, the organization’s spokesperson.
There has been no official response from the Boko Haram following the killing.
