I Don’t Want To Die Yet: Ex-Speaker Dimeji Bankole Speaks Out

share on:

Press men got wind of information that former speaker of the House of Representatives was paying a visit to the matriarch of the Awolowo family, Chief H.I.D. Awolowo in her home in Ikenne, and decided to turn it into a mini press-conference.

Bankole refused to answer any questions though, saying that he had remained mute on national issues because he wanted to live long. He said in Yoruba to the pressmen that he had not said a word since leaving office, and wanted it to remain so. He said, “I will continue watching from a distance. I don’t want to dabble into what is happenning because I want to live long.

The details of the meeting with Chief Awolowo were not disclosed, and Bankole left the residence laughing to all the questions from pressmen as he drove off.
