Get Familiar: Isebiama – Again

share on:

Michael ISEBIAMA David is an artiste with rich light toned voice and intelligent guitar skills. His debut single “Again” does a great job at containing this story in a 4minute record.

The song “Again” with its simple chord progression, complex guitar vamp, 90′s hip-hop drum kit, harmonica and crude garage rehearsal feel, seems to speak a different story in every other phrase, but all headed in one direction: “Life is a lot easier than we all make it appear. Forget its worries & burdens, Love your neighbour with an open mind” a message well needed in today’s hard to live in world.

The Urban gospel Singer, Songwriter and Guitarist whose music has rich influences of soul and soft rock, deeply believes and says “I am a story being told by God. My ups, downs, mistakes, successes, pains and happiness are lessons in that story to be learnt.

Not by me alone, but you too”. Isebiama’s heart goes out to movements that will make Nigeria, Africa and the world a united place full of people with integrity, honesty, courage and love as their values, this is the primary goal that he aims to achieve with a powerful tool; Music.

Lagos born and bred, Isebiama grew up in a small family with two older siblings. He discovered the prestigious MUSON School of Music and immediately applied and was awarded a scholarship to study a 2 year course in 2008 by MTN Foundation.

After two years of immense theory, history and practical training, and some experience as a professional working musician (vocalist, guitarist & educator), Isebiama is ready to speak to the world. He is ready to share that story and carry out that mission with a powerful tool, music.

He decided to pursue a career in music after an encounter at the university. “I remember that day in school, I was doing my laundry and singing James Blunt’s You’re Beautiful when someone came into the laundry and said he thought a radio was playing. That day marked a turning point in my vocal life.

I decided while in the university to pursue a career in music and left Covenant University at 300 Level where I was studying Accounting in 2007 to pursue an education in Music. This move a lot may see as unorthodox but I think anything worth doing at all is worth doing well”
