The Southbank are pleased to announce the addition of Nigerian talents – Jesse Jagz and Brymo to the line up for Ultimate Afrobeats Utopia at the Southbank on July 21. Hosted by BBC Radio 1/1xtra’s DJ Edu, award winning DJ Neptizzle and afro-house specialist Sef Kombo, the two acts signed to the Chocolate City label based in Lagos, join their BET nominated label-mate, Ice Prince for a night of great music.
The South bank Centre which is positioned in the heart of London’s thriving Southbank are putting together a series of events in July to celebrate the Olympics in London.
The very best in Afrobeats comes to Southbank Centre for one night only. Featuring BBC Radio 1/1Xtra’s DJ Edu, award-winning DJ Neptizzle and Afro House specialist Sef Kombo playing the hottest Naija Pop, Azonto Rythyms, Kuduro, Kizomba and the funkiest beats from around the continent. Be prepared for a hot night of dancing.
Brymo, affectionately known as the ‘hook master’ is responsible for the addictive chorus on Ice Prince’s recent smash hit single ‘Oleku’, which was playlisted by several radio stations nationwide, including Choice FM and BBC Radio 1Xtra. It was also a highlight at the recent Hackney Weekender last month. This time, fans will be treated to performances from all three Chocolate City hit makers, performing their chart topping hits from ‘Oleku’, ‘Ara’, to ‘Nobody test me’. The night will take place in the Clore Ballroom at the Royal Festival Hall as part of Africa Utopia, the month- long cultural showcase celebrating the best in African arts, dance, literature, fashion and music.
