On Saturday, April 21, 2012, Lagosians trooped out to support the maiden edition of the 10 Km Lagos Aids Walk (tagged LAW) which was organised by Biire Child and Maternal Health Foundation in collaboration with the Lagos State Agency for the Control of Aids (LSACA).
The ‘walkathon’ saw hundreds of Lagosians walk from the Ebute Meta end of the Third Mainland Bridge through to Carter/Adeniji Adele Bridge where a large red ribbon was formed.
The Red Ribbon signified remembrance, care and compassion for people still living with the deadly virus and those who had lost their lives to it.
They then headed down to Freedom Park for the benefit concert which saw performances from some of Nigeria’s top artistes like JJC, Chidinma and Sound Sultan who came out to support the cause.
