Must-See Guide For Moviegoers In Nigeria: The Vow Vs. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

share on:

Its another movie week in cinemas and whilst others around the World get to see The Avengers kick Loki’s butt in one of the most anticipated movies of all time, cinema-goers in Nigeria are stuck with movies released as far back as February to choose from.

For the purpose of this weekly project, the new movies shown each week in Nigerian cinemas will be looked at with supporting details about it to help you in deciding which one to go watch when you end up at the ticket booth. There are two new movies showing in the cinemas this week are The vow and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance which would be looked at below.

For the purpose of this Movie Goers Guide, stats from the leading online movie database iMDB, one of the foremost movie review/critic site Rotten Tomatoes and my personal take on them would be used as we hope to help you decide on which movie to see at the cinema.

The Vow

Stars: Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum and Sam Neill
Director: Michael Sucsy
Genre: Drama, Romance

Synopsis: Based on a real life events, a newlywed couple (Channing Tatum & Racheal McAdams) recovers from a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, her husband endeavors to win her heart again.

Stats
Based on the review of over 17,000 people on Imdb, this movie has got a grade of 6.6/10

Based on the review of over 71,000 people on Rotten tomatoes, this movie has got a grade of 3.6/5… Sounds fair enough!

What We Say:
Channing Tatum proves yet again that he’s more than the kid doing the dance steps in the first Step Up movie as he grows up in this movie to deliver one decent role worth commending. McAdams equally pulled off her role real good making the on screen chemistry between the actors be convincing unlike some other movies we’ve seen (Bounty Hunter comes to mind here). It’s a well directed movie which has a smooth flow and would carry you along with ease.

For those that love movies of the romance genre then this is one to add to your Must-See list. In addition to that if you saw the movie The Notebook also starring Racheal McAdams and loved it (made my boss cry if i remember correctly 😥 then this is definitely one movie for you as its equally emotional & moving though not as intense as The Notebook. On the flip side if you’re one of those that don’t like romantic movies or you’re not just keen on them and would rather like to see a macho movie then i’d advice you skip this one
